Professor Tim Windsor is based at Flinders University in Australia. Global population ageing means that it is now more important than ever to understand the factors that promote healthy ageing, engagement with life post-retirement, and intergenerational solidarity. Tim Windsor's research uses both long-term and micro-longitudinal data to study developmental processes that contribute to ageing well. Together with national and international collaborators from Europe and the United States, he focuses on both basic research concerned with psychological and social processes that facilitate coping and resilience, as well as applied research focusing on promoting late life well-being and reducing ageism. In this video we discuss:

1. What can people do in their 40's and 50's to plan and prepare things now which will lead to a better quality of life in our later years?

2. Is retirement something we should still be aspiring towards?

3. How can people go about developing a sense of purpose?

4. What can organisations do to support employees to age better?

5. His research and next steps
