We’ve partnered with The Fore who rigorously and transparently screen thousands of small charities and social enterprises (turnover under £0.5m) to identify those with exceptional leadership, innovative ideas and cost-effective solutions. The Fore then provides a wraparound package of unrestricted, multi-year grant-funding (up to £30,000) training, skilled volunteers, peer-to-peer networks and impact measurement.

Each month, representatives from charities and non-profits funded by the Fore will come and share their missions and the specific challenges and problems they are facing. As they scale up, they need and want our help.

This is a unique chance for Brave Starts members to donate time, energy, expertise or insight to organisations we know are making a considerable, positive difference.

MEET THIS MONTH'S SPEAKERS & CHARITIES:

Kitty Wallace, Managing Director @ BDD Foundation

The BDD Foundation (The Body Dysmorphic Disorder Foundation) is the only charity in the world exclusively dedicated to raising awareness and alleviating the suffering caused by Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD). With the right help and support BDD is treatable and beatable.

This is an exciting time to become a part of their journey as the leading charity for Body Dysmorphic Disorder. As they navigate an evolving mental health landscape, they are expanding their services, driving greater awareness, and working to secure better support for those affected by BDD.

Chantelle Lesforis, Director @ YourStance

YourStance is a team of experienced doctors and nurses teaching young people in London at risk of serious youth violence how to respond to an emergency.

All staff and volunteers work with YourStance in addition to their clinical roles. They are driven by their passion to share knowledge at a time when youth violence is on the rise and they want to be a proactive part of the solution to eradicate needless deaths by teaching life-saving skills.

Bryony Beynon, Co-Founder @ Good Night Out Campaign

Good Night Out believes nights out should be about fun and freedom, not fear.

Their mission is to create safer and more accountable nightlife, music, arts and cultural spaces. They educate and support people and places to help them better understand, respond to and prevent sexual violence in their spaces.

They're building an organisation in the spirit of the changes they want to see in the world and love to connect with others who believe in sustainability at the grassroots.

Noah Bennett, Co-Director @ Youngwilders

Youngwilders is a youth-led non-profit working on accelerating the nature recovery of the UK and centering young people in the process and movement. They are seeking pro-bono legal support to help them with their agreements with landowners and contracts with young volunteers.

Jude Williams, CEO @ Literacy Pirates

Literacy Pirates' after-school programmes, led by teachers, offer one to one and small group attention from trained volunteers, giving children aged 9-12 the confidence to unfurl their sails.

By welcoming them into their joyful spaces, publishing their work in the real world, and celebrating everything they do, they develop children's literacy, confidence and perseverance.
