In this session, we are joined by Laura Walker, a psychologist and mid life career development expert.  We’ll start by exploring as a group the main factors driving your career currently, and what you find most fulfilling.

We’ll compare that to Laura’s research findings, and close by spending some time exploring how you can make some adjustments and changes based on what we learn from the session.

  • Spend time meeting in small groups
  • Insights based on practical, evidence based research
  • Time to reflect and consider what possible changes you can make currently to shift towards a more fulfilling lifestyle

About Laura Walker

Laura is a recognised expert in careers and learning and development - bridging academic research and business practice. Passionate about evidence, she loves translating the latest research into accessible insights for business practitioners - via webinars, guest lecturing, or written content.

She was awarded the inaugural Bill Law award by NICEC for her work into career reinvention, is conducting PhD research into fulfilling work, and regularly writes psychology based articles. Her book 'Dancing with fear and confidence: How to liberate yourself and your career in mid-life' was published in November 2020.

Previously, she held Director-level positions for respected businesses across six different sectors including Retail (John Lewis Partnership), Pharmaceutical (GSK), Insurance (Aviva), Oil and Gas (Centrica), Defence (BAE Systems) and Luxury Goods (Burberry). She now runs her own business - blending consulting, researching and career coaching.

Laura is a mum to Lewi and Jas and partner to Rob. A very amateur photographer and reluctant house renovator. She only manages to stay human if she does something active every day.
